Sarah Palin Will Not Run for President

Sarah Palin has finally ended months of speculation and announced she will not seek the GOP nomination for president.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential candidate issued a statement that read in part, “As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.”

On Wednesday night, she also told Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren, “After making the decision today and making the announcement, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt… I know that it’s the right decision.”

Her proclamation comes just one day after New Jersey governor Chris Christie also said that he will not run for national office, leaving what many say is a final field of candidates to pursue the nomination.
