Best known for his time on the silver screen not his time spent in the ring Tommy Morrison died at the age of 44 due to complications with AIDs yesterday (September 1) in Nebraska.

He was also a former heavyweight boxing champion nicknamed "The Duke," defeating George Foreman in 1993. He was one of the hardest hitting boxers that I have ever seen Live. Not only did he beat Foreman that night , he whipped his ass!

Morrison's death was confirmed to TMZ by his boxing promoter Tony Holden, who said his friend and employer had been in and out of the hospital for several months with an unspecified illness.

In 1996, Tommy tested positive for HIV, but he refused to confirm that he had the disease, claiming the test was false so his career in boxing was over. Tommy was an Oklahoma native living close to my home town.

He was a great guy and never lived his life with an ounce of regret. Our condolences got out to his family and frriends.
