The newly ranked #24 Texas Tech men's basketball team played home to the Kenesaw State Owls. The Red Raiders came out hot, taking a 42-19 lead into the half. Tech would slow the offense down a lot in the second half but ultimately take a convincing win by a final of 82-53.

For the Red Raiders, leading the way was the Big 12 Player of the Week, Keenan Evans as he finished with a team high 16 points. The dunk machine, Zach Smith finished with 8 points and grabbed 6 boards. One of his dunks was also the best thing Scott Van Pelt had seen that day.

Freshman Zhaire Smith finished with in double figures, and it was a really good night for Justin Gray as he did not miss a single shot on the evening, going 4-4 from the floor and sinking his only two free throws, he finished with 10 points.

The Red Raiders are now 8-1 on the season and are 6-0 within the confines of the USA. Coming up next for the Red Raiders are the Owls again, however this time it is the Rice Owls. That game will be on Saturday with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be played at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum instead of the United Supermarkets Arena.
