Is Barbara Gordon getting a touch of Bollywood? Priyanka Chopra certainly hopes so.

The Quantico star, who's currently plastered to the silver screen in the remake of Baywatch, told OK! Magazine now that she's found her footing as an American superstar, she's angling to play a superhero. And she said the role of Batgirl, specifically, would be "so cool."

“My dream part is, now that I’m working in America, I definitely want to do a superhero part," she said. "When I think of American movies, they've had superheroes for eons right? So I definitely want to play a superhero."

And with Ben Affleck's The Batman set for release sometime soon, there's no counting out the eventual evolution of Batgirl on-screen.

Chopra might be in luck, too, as recent history suggests there's definitely a market for women superheroes (no matter what trolls might say). Wonder Woman, which stars Gal Gadot, raked in more than $100 million across North America during its opening weekend, and signaled the biggest opening in history for a film with a female director. The movie also carries a 93 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“[Director] Patty [Jenkins]' vision mesmerized the audience. She is a real talent. Clearly, this is a movie that is resonating with moviegoers around the globe,” Warner Bros. domestic distribution president Jeff Goldstein said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of Princess Diana on the big screen.”
