Plainview, Texas is getting their very own Braum's at 3605 Olton Road, giving residents one less reason to have to drive to Lubbock or Amarillo.

Seriously, good for y'all, though you're welcome in Lubbock anytime. (I can't speak for Amarillo). The store is right off of I-27, too, so traveling folks have another awesome option for a road break.

According to a press release from Braum's, the Plainview location, which is the 291st Braum's, is very much like the modern, sleek designs we've seen pop up in Lubbock.

The little grocery, which they call the Fresh Market, is awesome for a quick stop, and I'm a particular fan of their signature dairy products. And they carry Amy's Frozen Dinners, which are my favorites.

A sixth Lubbock location is set to open in February in Southwest Lubbock at 122nd & Quaker.

In case you're unaware of what a Braum's is like, you owe it to yourself to find out. The ice cream is incredible and the burgers are inexpensive and delicious. From their press release:

Braum’s features an old-fashioned ice cream fountain along with a grill area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This new store also has a large Fresh Market area with more than 100 fresh meats, fruits, vegetables, and fresh-from-the-farm dairy products.

Now I owe it to myself to try their breakfast. And everything else on the menu. For most of my life, Braum's was a 'visiting grandparents in Oklahoma' only treat. Now I can enjoy it without the drive, just like Plainview now can.
