Friday morning (August 16th) at around 3:45 a.m., Lubbock police responded to a serious car accident involving a pedestrian.

Police say a 2017 Chevy Camaro struck a pedestrian who was walking his dog in the 5800 block across the southbound lanes of I-27.

Police released the identity of the victim: 37-year-old Isaiah J. Joiner. Both Joiner and his dog died from their injuries at the scene.

The LPD Major Crash Unit is still investigating what happened, and so far no arrests have been made.
