The City of Lubbock Health Department has reached another milestone in the battle against COVID-19. Friday afternoon, the health department announced it has administered COVID-19 doses to over 20,000 people in Lubbock County. Over 10 percent of those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine have received both doses.

According to the City of Lubbock Health Department 20,433 people received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose, and 2,286 people have received both doses. Here is a breakdown of when people have received COVID-19 vaccine does in Lubbock County:

  • December 2020 - 2,170 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 4, 2021 - 1,288 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 7, 2021 - 1,528 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 12, 2021 - 1,357 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 13, 2021 - 1,510 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 14, 2021 - 2,214 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 19, 2021 - 1,475 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 20, 2021 - 1,450 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 21, 2021 - 2,041 vaccinations administered to those in Phases 1A and 1B
  • January 26, 2021 - 1,972 vaccinations: 1,549 first doses, 423 second doses
  • January 27, 2021 - 1,828 vaccinations: 1,502 first doses, 326 second doses
  • January 28, 2021 - 2,140 vaccinations: 1,858 first doses, 282 second doses
  • January 29, 2021 - 1,464 vaccinations: 209 first doses, 1,255 second doses

The City of Lubbock Health Department will hold additional vaccine clinics next week; details are pending. The future vaccination clinics will continue to focus on individuals eligible under Phase 1A and 1B guidelines. According to Texas DSHS, Phase 1A is: Health Care Workers, and Phase 1B is: High-Risk Individuals, including people older than age 65 and people older than 16 years old with an existing chronic medical condition outlined in DSHS regulations (cancer, morbid obesity, etc).
