One Shot in Lubbock After Police Say They Owed the Suspects Money
In the early morning hours of Friday, May 28th, one person in Lubbock ended up getting shot over owing money to the shooter.
KAMC News reports that 2 suspects had entered an unidentified woman's apartment at the Park Apartments in the 5700 block of 50th Street. The suspects demanded money, and the woman gave them all she had, which wasn't enough for the suspects.
Lubbock Police said that the suspects demanded the woman call someone that would later become the gunshot victim, because he owed the suspects money.
That person eventually showed up with 3 other people a bit later. Upon arrival, the suspects demanded all 4 get out of the vehicle. The first suspect was said to have attempted to steal the vehicle, but the victim interjected. They were then shot once by one of the suspects in the chest.
It was a little bit before 1 a.m. when police received the call saying that someone had been shot near 40th Street and Chicago Avenue.
The victim was taken by 2 of their friends to the EMS station located at 5503 Marsha Sharp Freeway. At the time, the victim was noted to have serious injuries, but their current condition is unknown.
Police said that both suspects at the scene ran away and have not yet been found. No description for either has been provided.
