In state news out of Houston, a bizarre case revealed the death of a woman, a dog, and the shooting of a man early Monday morning.

According to the Houston Police Department and reported by the Houston Chronicle, a woman died around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning (March 28) after she was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound in the 2700 block of Sampson in southeast Houston.

Initially, officers couldn’t identify whether the woman had been shot or stabbed, but she was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police then discovered a man who suffered a gunshot wound near the same location as the woman. He too was taken to a hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. No further update has been made on his condition.

Later, a third casualty was discovered when a dog was found shot and killed, again near the same location as the man and woman.

It is unknown at this time if all three deaths are related.

No suspects have been identified, and names of those injured or killed have not been released.
