Lubbock Woman’s Vehicle Shot At; Suspect Not Located
A woman at a Central Lubbock apartment complex says that she was targeted by a suspect who thought that she was involved in a separate shooting.
KAMC News reports that the victim, who hasn't been identified, told Lubbock Police that she heard shots fired at roughly 5:20 a.m. on Monday, August 2nd in the 5600 block of 48th Street. She didn't leave her apartment until roughly 10:45 a.m. Which complex the victim lived in wasn't specified by news releases.
After she left her apartment hours after the shots had been fired, she noticed that her vehicle outside had been damaged from the gunfire. The victim's neighbors also noticed damage to their vehicle and apartment from the aforementioned gunfire.
Apparently, this isn't the first time the victim's car had been shot at.
The victim told police that the suspect, who hasn't been publicly identified so far, believed that the victim was involved in a prior shooting at the suspect's home. The victim didn't claim to know anything else about why should would have been targeted.
Furthermore, the victim showed police a text from the suspect, saying "u weird h** dets why i shoot ur sjit ip again." The victim was asked to hold on to the snapshot as evidence.
As of Tuesday, August 3rd, Lubbock Police had not announced any arrests.
