A Lubbock woman has been accused of punching and hitting an employee with her car after they asked to see her ID before buying cigarettes.

KAMC News reports that the incident happened back in January of 2022 in the 5100 block of 82nd Street. It's said the suspect, 35-year-old Suzie Dylan Ham, entered a convenience store to buy cigarettes. The employee asked to see Ham's ID, and this apparently led to her yelling and "causing a scene."

Ham was asked to leave so she went outside and proceeded to bang on the store's window. The employee went outside to speak with Ham, but they were punched in the face.

Ham then got into a pickup truck, but while the employee was trying to get the license plate number, she put the truck into reverse and struck the employee. The employee says they grabbed onto the bed of the truck to stop themselves from going underneath it, but they lost their grip and hit their head on the ground. Ham is said to have kept going, however, and ran over the employee's leg.

Court records say that the employee was screaming in pain and appeared to be in shock on top of their left leg and arm being severely injured. Blood was observed on the inside of their mouth when police spoke with them.

Surveillance footage was obtained from the store and police say that it was consistent with how the employee described what happened.

Ham was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on Sunday, December 4th for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her bond has been set at $45,000.
