Lubbock Will Host the First-Ever Egg Roll Eating Competition
I know most of us have heard of the big Nathan's Hot Dog Eating World Championship that happens every year on July 4th, 2022. Well, Lubbock is trying to do something just like that.
Major League Eating is the company that helps put that event on. They have so many different world records and competitions for different types of food, obviously, the hot dog one being their biggest. The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest has secured over a million live viewers for 10 consecutive years. Well now they are hoping to bring something that big to Lubbock.
A local food truck Outlaw Egg Rolls here in Lubbock noticed they had everything except an egg roll one, so they decided to partner with the company to host the Inaugural Outlaw Egg Rolls World Championship Egg Roll Eating Competition.
Outlaw Eggrolls is a food truck "Where Texas Meets Asia" and is a small veteran and locally-owned business specializing in a combination of Texas/Asian fusion eggrolls. They're trying to help put them and Lubbock on the map with this cool new idea.
This event will be an all-day thing. It will get started with a vendor event and farmer's market. After that will be the competition and it will end with a concert by Shallowater native Kallum Patterson. There will be a ton of other activities to be announced later as they are confirmed and we will keep you updated when that happens.
This event will be free to the public and fun for everyone.
The event will be held on June 11th, 2022, at Alcove Farms located at 7919 4th St. in Lubbock, Texas. You can find out more about Outlaw Egg Rolls on their official website.
