Lubbock Residents Targeted by Fake Scam Call Get a Kidnapping Call to 911[VIDEO]
It seems that not a day goes by where I have to tell you about scam phone calls and how to spot and prevent them.
This time, a Lubbock couple was on the nasty side of a fake IRS Scam. Officers, including K-9 handlers, responded to the scene immediately to investigate.
From Everything Lubbock:
Officers with the Lubbock Police Department were called to the 4900 block of 115th street, at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, October 30th in response to reports of a kidnapping.
Through investigation, officers were able to determine this was a false report called in by IRS scammers and that the allegation of kidnapping holds no merit and that this was a false report of a kidnapping.
Of course, this was fake. Folks, I have sent many warnings out there, and I will do it again.
If you don't recognize a number, don't answer. If someone says you owe them money, hang up. Put credit freezes on your credit reports. Don't be a victim of these types of scams.
