This weekend is the "big switch" for Lubbock Power & Light. 70% of LP&L's service area is being switched from the Southwest Power Pool grid (SPP) to ERCOT's (Electric Reliability Council of Texas).

11 LP&L substations were switched from SPP to ERCOT on Saturday, and no major problems were reported.

LP&L crews then started work at 6am on Sunday, and by 7:15am on Sunday LP&L crews had switched two more substations from SPP to ERCOT (Chalker and Thompson).  Three more substations serving south and east Lubbock are scheduled to be switched over on Sunday morning.

Here's a map of the portion of the LP&L service area that is being converted to ERCOT on Sunday, May 30. (Green = already switched  Dark Grey = to be switched)
