Lubbock Police Looking for Pickup After Armed Carjacking
On Tuesday, October 20th, a Lubbock Police officer was flagged down in the 5800 block of Avenue T after a man claims he was the victim of an armed carjacking.
KAMC News reports that the victim, whose identity hasn't been released to the public, was in his pickup at a stop sign. He said that he was looking at his phone for directions.
That's when a suspect approached him on foot, opened the door and told the victim to get out of the truck. The victim complied since he noticed the suspect was armed with a handgun and feared for his life.
It's said that after the suspect got in the truck, they drove away westbound. A description of the suspect's appearance had not been given at the time of the police report.
The victim was not injured and refused treatment from EMS.
The stolen pickup truck is described as a blue and tan 2003 Chevy Silverado. A license plate number was not provided.
At the time of writing, the pickup truck has yet to be located.
