Lubbock police are investigating two recent shootings that could be connected. KAMC News reports that the shootings both occurred Saturday, June 20th.

The first shooting was reported at about 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of 68th Street. An officer in the area heard 7 to 8 gunshots and responded to the scene.

One potential victim told the officer that multiple shots had been fired from outside and several bullets hit their home and vehicles. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The second shooting was reported at about 4:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of East Colgate Street. Two people were injured in the shooting and drove by private vehicle to Covenant Medical Center.

The two victims told police that they were driving through East Colgate Street when they passed a small group of people and multiple shots were fired.

About an hour later, at 5:15 a.m., one person arrived at the UMC hospital with a gunshot wound but did not want to cooperate with police.

A search of their vehicle revealed several firearms, one of which had blood on it, and multiple rounds of ammunition. The potential shooting suspect was treated at the hospital and now faces potential charges.
