Lubbock Police Arrest Suspect in West Lubbock Robbery Attempt
Wednesday evening, just before 6pm, Lubbock Police were called out to the 7-Eleven at 19th Street and Iola Avenue after receiving reports of a robbery at the store.
According to LPD, 21 year-old Treshun Devonte Bates first tried to buy tobacco products without an ID at the 7-Eleven. He then left the store and returned with a firearm. Bates then confronted the clerk and struck him in the forehead with his gun. Bates escaped the store and fled into a nearby apartment complex in the 1600 block of Iola. Officers swarmed the scene and quickly arrested Bates. He’s been charged with Aggravated Robbery and additional charges could be pending.
Bates is in custody at the Lubbock County Jail, his bond has been set at $50,000.
