A Lubbock man claimed that he was shot by his friend after he argued with his friend's girlfriend.

KAMC News reports that Lubbock police officers responded to Star ER and located a gunshot victim who has yet to be identified. The victim told police that the shooting happened at a hotel in the 4000 block of South Loop 289. When exactly this happened was not made clear in news reports.

The victim said that he got into some sort of argument with his friend's girlfriend, and as he was leaving the hotel room his friend said something along the lines of "now I'm going to have to shoot you." The victim was then allegedly shot in the leg.

The victim then ran down the stairs and out into the parking lot of a nearby Walmart where an unknown person transported him to Star ER. He mentioned that he left a bike at the bottom of the stairwell, and police were able to find blood on it right where he said it would be. Blood was also found on the exit door to the stairwell.

So far there hasn't been any mention of an arrest in relation to the incident. A description of the suspect has not been released by police.
