A Lubbock man was arrested after it's said he pulled a handgun on employees of a motel for their food prices.

KAMC News reports it happened at around 5:45 p.m. at The Carriage House, located at 912 East Slaton Road on Sunday, December 12th.

The suspect, Benny Vela, had walked up to the front desk and asked about food before quickly becoming upset with the prices. He left the front desk but came back soon after, banging on a glass door nearby.

It was at this point that employees say that Vela pulled out a handgun. At one point, they couldn't even tell whether or not the banging sounds they heard were from the banging on the glass door of if Vela was firing the handgun.

None of the employees were said to have been injured during this incident.

On arrival, officers located Vela on the east side of the building at the rear of a semi tractor-trailer. He was found unloading a magazine out of a handgun, and he initially gave police a fake name: Enario Martinez.

Vela was arrested for making a terroristic threat and failure to identify. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling a bit over $5,000, but he has since bonded out.
