A Lubbock man has admitted to posing as a 75-year-old woman online to trade child pornography.

Earlier in 2021, Lubbock Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an elderly woman was uploading and distributing child pornography on Facebook. KAMC News reports that police investigated the account and found that it actually belonged to 33-year-old Maxwell David Wilson.

KAMC News reports that Wilson would identify himself as the user of the fake account in messages. He would specifically identify himself as Maxwell Wilson and that the account name was fake. Apparently, Wilson had stolen credit card information from the elderly woman that he was impersonating.

On 18 different occasions, Wilson uploaded videos of child pornography. He would trade these videos back and forth with multiple other people.

State prosecutors also accused Wilson of possessing child pornography, sexual performance of a child under the age of 14, fraudulent use of an ID and arson.

If Wilson's plea deal is accepted by a federal judge, he'll be sentenced to a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.
