Lubbock Laugh Off Happens This Friday, Jan. 19 at World of Beer
This Friday's lineup features seven local comedians.
I don't think people even realize how fertile the local Lubbock comedy scene is. Well, we found a way to put the best of it together for a friendly competition. It's called the Lubbock Laugh-Off.
It's six comedians in six rounds of competition. The first round is straight stand up. The middle rounds are improv questions. The final gut-busting round is the roast where everyone is fair game.
In the middle of all of this competition, we take a break for a stand-up set from last month's winner.
This week we'll feature former winners Austin Meador, Caleb Davis, Kendall Smith-Rodriquez and Aaron Durbin, plus young guns J.J. Howell and John Lewis Sims. Last months winner Stephen Feldman will do the headlining set.
The comedy starts at 9 p.m., but the last 13 shows have been standing-room only. So arrive early and you should have no problem getting a good seat.
