We really know how to go above and beyond for the Easter holiday according to research by WalletHub. We came in at number 39 in the U.S., sized up according to a variety of statistics.

It was a high percentage of Christian population that helped to put Lubbock in the top 40. We also have a good number of Easter Egg hunts, which helped our ranking,

Also taken into consideration was our overall celebration of Easter traditions. This means that we have a good number of brunch restaurants per capita, the cost of a restaurant meal scored well, plus we apparently have our fair share of candy stores and flower shops.

One thing that did not help our score was a low ranking in caring for our community, according to WalletHub.

The number one spot in the country to celebrate Easter was St. Louis, Missouri. Birmingham, Alabama had the highest ranking of those observing Easter (percentage of Christians). Honolulu, Hawaii had the most in the way of Easter traditions, while Glendale, Arizona has the most Easter Egg hunts. To round out the rankings, Oklahoma City and Birmingham have the best Easter weather.

If you're traveling this Easter, wherever you're celebrating, take the spirit of the holiday with you. I have wonderful childhood memories of Easter with my grandparents and family.

I'll always remember some great Easter Egg hunts as a kid and big family meals. I hope you will make it special, build memories and remember what the true meaning of this beautiful day is. Happy Easter!
