Lubbock Gets Ready to Host the 2023 Texas Firefighter Summer Games
The city of Lubbock will soon see an influx of firefighters as the city prepares for the 2023 Firefighter Summer Games. The Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association has partnered with Lubbock Sports to present the 2023 Texas Firefighter Summer Games.
A press release from Lubbock Sports, the 2023 Texas Firefighter Summer Games are expected to bring about 800 to 1200 firefighters from across Texas as they showcase their skills. The games are designed to deliver a competitive but family oriented environment as the participants showcase their fitness, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. Some of those skills include archery, cornhole, bowling and even horseshoes, to name a few, but only if there are enough participants for those events.
The games are expected to have a very positive impact on Lubbock's economy with a projected $1.3 million to go towards the community. The games are also expected to attract over 5,000 attendees and many will be in venues across Lubbock. KAMC news reports that those venues will be close to the hotels and do include
Berl Huffman Athletic Complex, South Plains Lanes, Lubbock Shooting Complex, Texas Tech University Recreation Center, Lake Alan Henry, Meadowbrook Canyon Creek Golf Course and the MCM Elegante Hotel
