Look At This New Addition To The Lubbock Airport
I flew through the Lubbock International Airport to go see my family in Austin for Thanksgiving. I knew a lot of changes happened but I was shocked by a lot of them.
When the $42 million dollar project is done it will finish three goals: upgrade and replace the essential building systems, second: improve the circulation and the flow of people and last update the interior finishes and overall aesthetics.
What I have noticed, is the upgrades bathrooms, baggage claims, layout and everything look so much better. They still have a lot more things they say they are working on like adding new places to eat.
They have even stepped up their technology games. I know a lot of places are doing a self check out but the system they have takes it to a new level that I have never seen before.
I had to get a water bottle like I always do before I boarded the plane and I used the self-checkout counter. Below is what it looked like.
When I walked up I was so confused. You don't have to scan anything. You just set it on there and the cameras scan your item or items and it knows exactly what you want. It is super fast and easy. It even gives you instructions if you are new. See below, it can do more than one item.
Have y'all seen anything like this? I am blown away with technology these days honestly. I can't wait to see the other things they add to the airport. The airport is still looking at possible options for a bar/restaurant, a coffee shop, 2-3 fast food options, and a gift shop.
I know they are looking to add more food options which I think is definitely needed.
