Jamie Foxx Sings National Anthem at Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Fight [VIDEO]
R&B crooner Jamie Foxx performed the National Anthem for the “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas on Saturday night (May 2). Although the singer didn’t fight Mayweather, he did received tons of jabs on Twitter for what many deemed was a dull performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”
Dressed in a white tuxedo jacket, black shirt and a gold necklace, Foxx gave a subtle yet soulful performance of the National Anthem. The “Blame It” singer even added his own spin to it by adding “hallelujah” at the end.
However, reactions to Foxx’s "remix" of the "Star-Spangled Banner" were less than positive. Fans dragged the Oscar-winning actor on Twitter, calling his performance lackluster and off-key.
“Jamie Foxx making me feel good about my shower singing,” tweeted NBC journalist Luke Russert.
"Jamie Foxx forgot to bring his Auto Tune," wrote Washington Post NBA reporter Michael Lee.
