Chris Brown’s Court Case Could Impact R&B Tour Dates

Not to quote Justin Timberlake, but… are Chris Brown’s latest legal troubles gonna ruin the tour?! THE WORLD TOUR BUT SPECIFICALLY THE EL PASO STOP!?!

Brown, who is scheduled to perform alongside Usher and Mario at Sun Bowl Stadium on Saturday, October 3, recently pleaded guilty in the United Kingdom to a charge of affray stemming from a 2023 nightclub incident in London. 

After this news broke, many El Paso fans wondered whether this could impact his upcoming stop with Usher at the Sun Bowl. Here’s what we know so far!

Could Chris Brown Miss His El Paso Concert With Usher? 

Ok, so first things first: What the heck is a charge of Affray?? I’m no lawyer, but I am a great Google search master and in the UK affray is defined as using or threatening violence towards someone and making them fear for their safety. It is a public order offense in the UK that carries a maximum sentence of up to three years in prison.

More serious charges, including assault and attempted grievous bodily harm, were dropped as part of the case.

According to online reports, Chris Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26 at Southwark Crown Court after being granted permission to leave the country on bail.

For now, the El Paso concert is not expected to be affected. Because Brown's sentencing takes place more than three weeks after the October 3 show, there has been no announcement that any dates before October 26 will be canceled or postponed.

However, the sentencing date could create uncertainty for the remainder of the tour. If Brown receives a prison sentence requiring him to serve time immediately, reports indicate he could miss as many as 12 scheduled tour stops after October 26, including performances in Atlanta, Inglewood, New Orleans, Houston, Miami Gardens, and Tampa.

Right now neither Brown's team nor tour organizers have announced any changes to the tour schedule. The El Paso stop remains on the calendar, and tickets continue to be available. Fans planning to attend are encouraged to keep an eye on official tour channels for any future updates as Brown's sentencing date approaches.
