Waco, Texas has seen a dog go from left for dead following an attack by another dog to thriving thanks to an immense response by local animal lovers all over Central Texas hoping to give Benjie a second chance at life. Several Waco area families threw their hat into the ring to become the new fur-ever home to Benjie, and now he has all but returned to his pretraumatic experience.

Benjie's story has been inspirational from the start, and a true testament to never giving up as his new owner Christie Johnson said she initially fell in love with the dog before every meeting him simply because of his story on social media.

According to this KWTX article, Benjie was found in a dumpster after being the victim of an attack by another dog, but as lifeless as he once was, he is loving life with his three new doggo brothers in the home of Johnson. The recovery and rehoming of Benjie is a wonderful story to be celebrated, but there are hundreds of other dogs and cats in our area that are awaiting their opportunity to live, and live out their own comeback story.
