Killeen Community Mourns Loss From Murder-suicide Incident

Killeen police have identified two individuals killed early Sunday that they believe to be a murder-suicide incident. The Killeen Police Department identified 26-year-old Nathaly Bravo as the believed victim of homicide and 23-year-old William Rosario as the believed suspect.

Officers were called to a residence located on July Drive on August 10, 2023, at approximately 12:16 a.m. Officers located Bravo outside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds that were fatal and Rosario was found dead inside the residence from a gunshot wound.

Investigators Point to Domestic Dispute

According to investigators, preliminary investigations suggest a “domestic situation” turned into a murder-suicide. There was no danger to the general public and, apparently, when everyone is dead, the threat evaluation drops to zero.

Divorce: The Less Permanent Option

Sadly, breaking up is a better, not nearly as final option when a relationship is at an end. Sure, it can be messy. You may fight over who gets the pet dog, who keeps the couch, and also who gets to go to the local bar for trivia night. But at least you would both be alive when it’s over.

The Cruelty and Fallout of Murder-Suicide

Murder-suicide is the last option. The act is not just cruel to the person being killed, it hurts families, traumatizes neighbors, wounds friends, and creates a literal mess for law enforcement to deal with. Moreover, it is selfish in a way that no breakup can compete with.

Other Ways to End a Relationship

There are arguments, breakups, restraining orders, therapy, and even just walking away to somewhere new. Some people appear to skip several of these steps and arrive at the only irreversible conclusion that guarantees nobody gets a second chance.

Police will continue to investigate this incident, but the outcome will be the same. This is yet another case where one individual decided if they couldn’t have the last word, no one would.
