Tim Collins To Announce Campaign For Lubbock City Council
Lubbock businessman Tim Collins will announce his campaign for Lubbock City Council on Tuesday at Buddy Holly Hall. Collins will be running for the District 6 seat which is currently held by Councilwoman Latrelle Joy, who was first elected in 2012.
Collins has owned Collins Tile for 40 years and has been active in supporting projects in the City of Lubbock. Collins currently serves as vice president of the Lubbock Reese Redevelopment Authority and is vice chair of the Lubbock County Local Government Corporation for the Lubbock County Expo Center. In the past Collins served as chairman of LEPAA for Buddy Holly Hall. He also served as the former chair of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance and Market Lubbock. Collins was also the chair of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Collins will kick off his campaign at 11am on Tuesday. Citizens will vote in the race along with Council Districts 2 and 4 and position of Mayor in the May 4th 2024 Election. The first day to officially file is January 17, 2024.
Last week, KFYO reported that community activist Adam Hernandez announced his campaign for Mayor.
