This Texas City Is Ranked As The Third Most Bed Bug Infested City in America

Or at least, check out the bedding when you travel. Bed bugs can be found in any city of Texas, but the truth is, some cities are more hospitable to bed bugs than others. And one Texas city basically ranks as the capital of bed bugs in Texas. And that probably isn't something you want to be a capital of.
Pest Gnome set out to rank the 500 largest cities in America to find out which city was the worst for bed bugs. The good news is that no Texas city ranked fist or second. We will get to those two a little later.
When taking into account infestation risk, pest control, and urban density, Houston, Texas ranked as the third worst city in America for bed bugs. According to KXAN, Houston's average Google searches for bed bugs in the past year was 31,770.

According to KXAN, Houston ranked 3rd behind New York City and Los Angeles as the worst for bed bugs. Apparently, warm and humid areas are ideal climates for bed bugs. And Houston is both warm and humid. Houston also ranked 4rd worst in the nation for other reasons according to KXAN
Pest Gnome says the city’s ranking reflects the fact that Houston has at least 54 used furniture stores (the second highest number in the U.S.) and a high number of accommodations (Houston was found to have 881 temporary lodgings, the third highest in the U.S.).
There were other Texas cities that made the worst list but they were all outside the top 10. The city of Dallas ranked 11th, San Antonio 16th, Fort Worth was 37th, and Irving was 54th.
