There is a new millionaire in Texas.

The Texas Lottery announced this past Friday that a resident of Lubbock, Texas claimed a top prize from a winning scratch-off lottery ticket. The resident won playing the scratch ticket game 500X.

Winning Texas Lottery Scratch Ticket Sold In Lubbock

According to the Texas Lottery, the winner has chosen to remain anonymous, which I personally believe is always the right decision for whoever wins a big prize from the Texas Lottery.

We do know that the winning ticket was sold at the Sonik Food Mart at 3908 Avenue Q. in Lubbock.

Scratch Ticket Game Pays Out Again

The winner in Lubbock was the seventh person to win the top prize of $1 million dollars in the 500x scratch ticket game according to the Texas Lottery. There are 15 total top prizes of $1 million in the game. According to a press release from the Texas Lottery, 500X offers over $229 million dollars in total prizes.

Odds of winning any prize in the 500X game are one in 3.36 according to lottery officials.

According to the Texas Lottery, since 1992 the Texas Lottery has generated more than $40 billion in revenue for the state. Since 1997, the lottery has contributed $34.44 billion to the Foundation School Fund.

The Texas Lottery has come under fire lately as Texas Lawmakers continue discuss the future of the lottery in Texas.
