A Texas woman has been arrested, but is now out of jail after being accused and charged with unlawful restraint and injury to a child.
A Houston woman is accused of locking a 7-year-old girl, a relative, in a dog kennel that was kept under the Christmas tree. She also allegedly beat the young girl.
Rose Anderson was charged this past Sunday with unlawful restraint and injury to a child on Sunday, this last Monday she posted bond and is now out of jail. According to ABC 13 in Houston, the alleged attack happened on or around December 13 inside Anderson's apartment.
ABC 13 reported that Anderson is accused of kicking the young girl, zip-tying her, and locking the 7-year-old girl in a dog cage for "hours on end". They also reported that the girl's mouth was duct taped shut and that she was forced to "urinate on herself".
According to court documents, Anderson's motive was to "discipline" the young girl for bad behavior at school. According to ABC 13, Anderson is a single mother working 3 jobs. The young girl has been placed into Foster Care.
"CPS is investigating these abuse allegations alongside law enforcement. The child is now safe in foster care, where she is receiving the care she needs." Texas Department of Family Services Spokesperson Melissa Lanford said.
