Texas Teen Arrested For Murder After 3 Months on the Run
After 3 months on the lamb, Adiah Roberson, 17, who allegedly shot and killed a Sonic employee in Dallas was arrested and charged with murder, among other infractions.
The Murder of a Sonic Employee
Daniel Shrewsbury, a 33-year-old manager at the restaurant chain Sonic, refused to let Roberson pay for her order with counterfeit cash. According to NBC DFW, Dallas PD received calls of shots fired at the Sonic location in San Antonio.
This is the Sonic location where Daniel Shrewsbury was shot in San Antonio on 5510 Babcock Rd.
Shrewsbury walked outside to take a photo of the car's license plates as it sped away. The driver, 27-year-old Joshua Joseph, attempted to drive off after yelling threats to Shrewsbury saying he was going to get shot. This is when Roberson allegedly exited the vehicle as well and shot the Sonic manager before her and Joseph fled the scene.
When officials arrived, they found Shrewsbury unresponsive on the ground with a bullet wound in his chest. He died later at the scene.
Roberson's Eventual Arrest
For three months, Adiah Roberson has evaded police custody, until earlier this week when a tip was received through Texas Crime Stoppers leading authorities to her location in Dallas.
Prior to Roberson's arrest, she was included on the Texas 10 Most Wanted. There was also a $5,000 reward for information that could lead to her arrest, according to Texas DPS.
Roberson's criminal history includes Evading Arrest, Criminal Trespass, and Possession of Marijuana.
She was booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges of murder and forgery, and her bond has been set at $525,000.
