The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation issued a six-month emergency closure for multiple massage parlors across Texas. Texas officials stepped in after investigators uncovered links of alleged wrongdoing.

According to CBS News, all of the massage parlors are owned by the same person.

Texas Investigators Continue to Crack Down on Illegal Services

According to CBS, investigators were able to uncover alleged links to human trafficking, unlicensed activity, and sexual services at six massage parlors that were being investigated. The massage parlors are all owned by the same person, Wanli Peng. According to CBS News, Houston P&L Massages Therapy, PLLC, and Dallas Health Care Enterprise LLC were also shut down at these locations.

CBS reported the six following businesses were closed.

  • Massage A+, 3211 W. Wadley Ave., Ste. 12, Midland
  • Healing Garden Massage, 956 S. Fry Rd., Katy
  • Massage Pro 1, 2150 FM 2920 Rd., Ste. 200, Spring
  • Massage Invite, 2685 Highway 6 S., Houston
  • Yu Spa, 2001 Coit Rd., Ste. 169, Plano
  • YY Spa, 501 Birdwell Ln., Ste. 17, Big Spring

A Range of Violations Was Found

CBS News reports that officials found a range of violations were found. For example, sexual services being offered and advertised, role-playing costumes found on site, employees living at the locations, and some employees working without a license. One employee was arrested for inappropriately touching an undercover police officer.

The emergency closure is for at least six months.
