Red Lobster is closing numerous locations around Texas and throughout the United States as the restaurant chain continues to struggle and the possibility of bankruptcy looms.

According to FOX Business, it was reported earlier in the year that Red Lobster was considering filing bankruptcy due to a number of financial issues weighing down the company. If the company files for bankruptcy, they could continue to operate while putting into place a debt reduction plan.

On Monday, the company announced about 50 locations around the United States would be closing. That includes seven locations in Texas.

Which Texas Red Lobster Locations Are Closing?

Red Lobster has more than 25 locations across Texas. On Monday, seven locations were announced as closed, but as of right now they are viewed as "temporarily closed". According to the, the following locations are not operating.

  • College Station: 1200 University Dr E
  • Dallas: 9069 Vantage Point Dr
  • Houston: 302 Farm to Market 1960 Road West Cypress Pointe
  • Lake Jackson: 104 TX-332, Brazos Mall
  • Longview: 3515 McCann Rd
  • Lufkin: 1919 South 1st Street Lufkin Mall
  • Pasadena: 4002 Spencer Hwy

Red Lobster has been known for it's all-you-can-eat shrimp deal, but according to CNN, the deal actually hurt the company last year and Red Lobster lost money on the promotion. It has been reported that the price of the promotion has increased since the profit loss.
