President Biden was scheduled to travel to Austin, TX last week to speak at the LBJ Library. His trip was temporarily halted following the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13th.

Biden will now resume his plans to travel to Austin on Monday, July 29th. The purpose of his visit is to deliver remarks commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act.

This is one of the Biden's first outings following the announcement of his withdrawal from the 2024 Presidential Election and his COVID-19 negative test.

Biden's decision to withdraw followed pressure from his Democratic peers urging him to step down and pass the title. Reasons for this include his poor debate performance against former President Trump and mounting concerns about his health and well-being.

Kamala Harris is also scheduled to visit the Lone Star State on Thursday as she will speak at the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) 88th National Convention in Houston.

The AFT has endorsed the Vice President following President Biden's decision to step down at the end of his term. After withdrawing, Biden also endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor.

Harris has managed to raise millions of dollars in support for her journey to POTUS, but the Trump campaign has raised some flags about how the VP is obtaining these funds.

On Tuesday, the Trump campaign filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) targeting funds transferred from President Biden's re-election campaign to Kamala Harris' campaign.
