Lubbock’s Mugshot Monday: 34 People Arrested the Week of May Rain

We all love the rain in Texas but if the recent rain knocked out your electricity and you live in the middle of nowhere then you might have missed a few important things in the news.

Milk, Guns, and Thunderstorms

One of those things is schools trying to put a ban on the delicious and classic drink chocolate milk. That did seem to grind the gears of one of local contributors who had a lot of words to say about the subject and school safety. Another point of safety is staying indoors during a thunderstorm. One local Texas man was actually outside with his child when the two were struck by lightning and the results were very severe.

Battle of the Frozen Treats

Speaking of safety Lubbock actually has a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu place that just celebrated their one year anniversary, they also serve acai bowls. These acai bowls are a great frozen treat and healthier alternative to ice cream but who doesn't want to learn some self defense while also being able to grab something sweet after. In some cases healthier isn't always better as Dr Pepper (that's spelled right, it's not Dr. Pepper) has teamed up with Blue Bell Ice Cream to bring the most Texas dessert to the Lone Star State. Dr Pepper Float Ice Cream which has been flying off the shelves faster than kids chasing the ice cream man in a heatwave. I digress. The only thin better would be a Dr Pepper Strawberries and Cream Float Ice Cream, Blue Bell please make it happen!

These 34 mugshots are of individuals arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center during the week of May 15 - May 21, 2023. The individuals charged should be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. All arrestees featured below are those charged with a felony offense. A felony offense is classified by the severity of punishment, ranging from the low level state jail felony all the way to a capital felony. Also featured are any Individuals who were held on a Fugitive Warrant or Detainer, a United States Marshall Remand, or Immigration Customs Enforcement Detainer.
