Early Voting Starts Today For The Lubbock City Council Runoffs & Area Elections
Early Voting for the June 15th runoff elections begins today, Monday June 3rd. Early voting will last until Tuesday, June 11.
Voters in Lubbock and surrounding areas with local runoff elections, will be heading to the polls in runoff elections for city council and school board elections that weren't decided back in May.
In the City of Lubbock, citizens will vote for who will become the next Mayor of Lubbock. Former Lubbock City Council members Mark McBrayer and Steve Massengale will be on the ballot. Back in May, McBrayer finished election night with around 37% of the vote to Massengale's 28%. The two recently participated in a debate on KFYO which can be heard here.
Voters in District 2 in Lubbock will also have an additional race on the ballot. Voters in District 2 will vote for their next representative for the Lubbock City Council. In May Gordon Harris received 43% of the vote with Anah Menjares finishing with 39% of the vote.
Voters will have from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from June 3 until June 11 to participate in early voting. Election Day is Saturday, June 15th.
