Summer hasn't officially started yet, but summer-like temperatures have arrived for Lubbock and West Texas. And if you think it's hot on Monday, just wait. Dangerously hot temperatures are expected in our area on Tuesday.

It's Going to be Hot in Lubbock on Tuesday

According to local and national forecasters, it's going to be a hot week in and around Lubbock with Tuesday's high temperatures getting dangerously hot. Monday's high temperatures are supposed to top out right around 100 degrees. Some will see slightly below 100 if you are lucky.

Tuesday morning's low will be about 70 degrees. The wind will increase and dust could be flying around. But what everyone should be keeping their eyes on is the high temperature. Tuesday's high in and around Lubbock will be somewhere between 103 and 106 according to forecasts. That's dangerously hot temperatures and you'll want to have plenty of water with you if working outside.

Temperatures Will Drop By The Weekend

The good news is that we are not looking at a stretch of 100 degree days just yet. Those will eventually be here. Temperatures the rest of the week are expected to be in the upper 90's and possibly mid to low 90's by the weekend. We could even see temperatures in the low 90's or upper 80's early next week, but that is a bit aways.

Summer officially begins on Friday. You should plan for this to be a long hot Summer this year. For those who work outdoors, have plenty of water and take some time in the shade when you can.
