Another week, another large business declaring bankruptcy and announcing that they will be closing stores across Texas and the entire nation. The latest? A large furniture and appliance retailer with locations all over the country.

American Freight announced last Friday that they would be closing all stores in Texas and throughout the United States. The closure of all 328 locations comes as American Freight is wrapping up operations as its parent company, Franchise Group Inc. is going through restructuring due to bankruptcy according to fox7austin.com.

According to the report, American Freight is offering "significant discounts" on all inventory as the stores begin to close across the nation. American Freight also announced that newer inventory will be arriving to some stores and is expected to move quickly as sales continue.

Though some have offered a word of caution about buying furniture and appliances from a business that is going out of business due to the lack of returns and/or refunds that could go along with the purchases.

The announcement comes during a year where store closures outnumber openings according to fox7austin.

Franchise Group Inc. also owns Pet Supplies Plus, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Buddy's Home Furnishings. Reports say that those businesses will continue to serve customers both in person and online.
