For the first time ever The Goin' Band from Raiderland has been chosen to perform at the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and you could be going along with them.

Texas Tech University's Goin' Band was established 97 years ago and has played on some pretty large stages like bowl games, NFL halftime shows and even a St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland but in 2023 they are hitting a new height.

According to their website, "each year, the Macy's Parade Band Committee looks for bands that have the stage presence, musical and marching abilities to captivate millions of live spectators and viewers nationwide."

If you have ever wanted to go to New York City or see the parade in person this is your chance. Texas Tech University has partnered with Music Festivals & Tours to offer travel packages for Red Raiders wishing to travel to the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Sheraton New York Times Square will serve as the hotel and the package will include tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and a Thanksgiving dinner cruise around the New York Harbor with the Goin’ Band.

You will leave for the trip on Monday, November 20th, 2023 and return home on Friday, November 24th, 2023.

The Texas Tech Alumni Association is considering an air charter from Lubbock to New York as an add-on, if you're interested in participating in an air charter, please contact Kahlie Callison at kahlie.callison@ttu.edu or 806-834-4412.

The deadline to register to secure your package is April 1st, 2023. You can find out more about it and how to sign up here.
