Something Is Opening Up At Lubbock’s Old Pepe’s Location

Back in August, we told you about a pizza and ice cream place that was closing in Lubbock.

Pepe's opened in late 2016 in Lubbock and at the time was one of a few local owned and operated pizzerias  Owners Tim and Dusty Murphy poured a lot into making the business thrive for many years. They named the restaurant after Tim Murphy's father. Pepe's Pizza and Ice Cream have remained at 3407 98th St #900 since opening.

On a Facebook message to customers, the owners of Pepe's announced that Sunday, September 3rd will be the final day of operations for Pepe's. The owners did not give a reason behind the closing. Other local restaurants have closed in 2023 and many have pointed to the rising cost of food and other materials needed in the business, and some have pointed to lack of available staff to work.

Now only a few short months later a new place is opening up there.

It is called is Vito's Pizzeria and Ice Cream. There is not a lot of details about them out right now. All we know is they will have pizza and ice cream.

They hope to have their doors open by the end of October or the beginning of November. We will keep you updated when we find out more.
