A store in Lubbock for your one-stop shop for all ages and sports has changed names.

Cardinal’s Sports Center in Lubbock announced on social media that the business is rebranding with a new name, QuarterFour.

QuarterFour began serving the Lubbock and surrounding area in 1946. Although the original store was known as The Sport Center, the name was changed to Cardinal's Sport Center in 1969 after being purchased by Johnny Cardinal. Since that time, Cardinal's has been family-owned and operated for three generations.

They posted to Facebook saying a “new name, same folks.” Founded in 1946, the business has been a locally-owned staple in the community for years.

“Today we are officially announcing our new name: QuarterFour. In sports it’s the most important time of every game. It’s all about how you finish. At QuarterFour every customer is the most important customer we serve. And we will finish strong for you in whatever we do,” Brad Wyatt, owner of QuarterFour said in a video posted on the company’s social media.

In 2011, Cardinal's Sport Center opened a new location as the showcase store of the Lubbock area, as well as opening a new location in Plano, TX. In 2018, Tony Cardinal sold the business to long-term General Manager, Brad Wyatt and in 2024, Cardinal's became QuarterFour and remains locally owned. A store that still prides itself in customer service, local youth and school sponsorships, and the ability to serve the surrounding community. The store has grown and changed in many ways since 1946, but offering the finest sporting goods and superior customer service remains the ultimate goal.

The coffee shop located within the store, formerly known as Rejavanate Coffee Bar, remains but also with a new name – QuarterFour Coffee. They have some really good coffee and I love their breakfast pizzas! You can customize them to what you like and want.
