Hidden Gems Of The 806: A Little Slice of Heaven Cafe

Sometimes you need just a little slice of heaven in your life and this one feeds you really well.

I am starting a series finding all the hidden gems of the 806 and this restaurant in Aberthany is the first stop on my list.

Robert and Kimberly Hicks started A Little Slice of Heaven Cafe in Abernathy almost 10 years ago. They used to work for other restaurants around town, it's actually how they met, but made the big decision to open up their own spot.

"Me and my friend just try to put out good food in a friendly environment with hard-working people around us," said Robert Hicks.

They are known for a lot of things, but Hicks says they have the best chicken fried steak in Texas. They also do fish fries on Fridays which people love.

Everything made at A Little Slice of Heaven Cafe is homemade, old-fashioned, hand-battered, and their own recipes.

When I went we tried the chicken fried chicken, Rob's Big Mouth Burger and fries. It was all fabulous and we finished every bite. It definitely was a lot of food and great prices!

All their family members have worked there or still work there. They wanted to make their restaurant a positive family-friendly establishment that loves God.

They are open on Mondays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
