This year marks the 107th Edition of the South Plains Fair and things are getting better.

This year's fair preview night is September 19th, 2024 with Buck-A-Ride night. The actual fair goes from Friday, September 20th to Saturday, September 28th.

There are a couple of things new to look out for this year when the fair opens up. One new thing is a horticulture show that has been added for competitions.  It will be in the Merchants Building instead of vendors this year.

They have upgraded their picnic tables.  There are a couple of new rides that will be here. (We will show you those next week.)  They also have sea lions, racing pigs, and a balloon guy this year that will be free to watch and see.

The sea lions show will be Monday through Friday at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays at 1:15 pm, 3:45 pm and 7:15 pm.

The racing pigs will be on Monday through Friday at 3 pm, 4:30 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 am, 2 pm, 3:15 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm.

Just like last year there will be the clear bag policy. All bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or a small clutch and are subject to search.

Tthere will be no shows this year at the Fair Park Coliseum. While that may be a bummer to music fans who dig the free concerts featuring popular musical acts, there's a silver lining. Coliseum updates may be on the horizon. The South Plains Fair wants to update the venue before they host shows there again.

Mega Passes are now on sale at the South Plains Fairgrounds and online for $75.

You can find out more about their fair on their official website. The South Plains Fair is located at 105 E Broadway in Lubbock, Texas.
