The College World Series is well underway in Omaha, Nebraska. And this year, LSU are favorites both on and off the field. The Tigers baseball team are one of the best in the country and have already beat another top contender in Arkansas.

Off the field, LSU fans from Louisiana are trying to make their own bit of history by dominating the Jell-O shot challenge at Rocco's...again!

LSU Has a Commanding Lead at Rocco's Already

We're through the first weekend of the College World Series and LSU fans from Louisiana are already making some noise in Omaha. Not only are they cheering for the Tigers loudly and proudly at the ball park, but they're once again DOMINATING Rocco's Jell-O shot challenge. Back in 2023, LSU fans set the record at Rocco's by downing 68,888 Jell-O shots - which beat the previous record set by Ole Miss by more than 50,000 shots - their record was 18,777.

And this year, LSU fans are on pace that break that mind blowing record. So far, according to Rocco's, LSU fans have already consumed 13,552 Jell-O shots. The next closest fan base is Murray State at 6,420! It's crazy!

Before LSU set the record the first time, the previous record from Ole Miss was 18,777. They may beat that by the end of the day! If the Tigers make a deep World Series run, there's no telling how many shots fans will end up consuming.

Could LSU Break 100,000 Jell-O Shots?

Rocco's Jell-O shot challenge is great. $1 from every shot sold goes towards charity. So far, they've already raised more than $50,000 for various food banks. So, the insanity of LSU fans is a good thing for the community as a whole.

The big question is - how many shots will LSU fans get through? Normally, once a team is eliminated from the tournament, shot consumption drops dramatically. So, hypothetically, LSU would need to make a deep championship run to break their record.

On the flipside, LSU fans are crazy. A loss may actually drive them to drink more. Regardless, with the lead they already have and the pace they've already set, I don't think 80k shots is out of the question. Heck, I'm not sure 100k shots are out of the question.

Regardless of what the total number ends up being, I think it's a pretty safe bet that all the charities supported by the Jell-O shot challenge are going to be very happy when all is said and done.
