It is almost time for the Red River Revel in Shreveport. It is one of the areas biggest and best festivals for families. You will find music, art, great food and tons of activities for kids.

The event kicks off the fall season at Festival Plaza in Shreveport on Thursday, September 25.

What's the Big Change This Year for the Revel?

The event will not be open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It will run from the 25th through Sunday, September 28 and again on Thursday October 2 - Sunday October 5.
In the past, the festival ran for the full week and some of the artists changed out mid week.

This year, the artists had the option to be here for the first weekend or the second. They could also choose to stay here for both weekends.

Each weekend promises four full days of entertainment, with daily hours stretching from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and ending at 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.

What's the Theme for the Revel?

This year the theme is “The Beat Goes On.” Several of the musical acts will feature all kinds of varieties of drums. There will also be a drumming workshop series led by acclaimed instructors Staton Moore, Brady Blade, John Hoffman, Nikki Glaspie, and Sam Shahin.

What Musical Acts Are on the Revel Schedule

First Weekend: Pam Tillis, The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr., Howard Hewett, Mariah Dawne, Squonk!, James LeBlanc, Alter Ego, Silent Disco South, The Slurred Words, Lions in the Sand, The Hollow Decks, and more.

Second Weekend: Galactic featuring Jelly Joseph, Tab Benoit, Taikoproject, J & the Causeways, Mia Borders, Zach Edwards & the Medicine, Big Al & Cherri Jubilee, Anxious, Front Cover Band, Everett Street Jazz, Charlotte’s Web, Destiny & the Groove Kings, among others.

What Kinds of Art Will You Find at the Revel?

There will be more than 80 visual artists, representing media such as oils, acrylics, sculpture, jewelry, woodwork, glass, and metal. There is also a hands-on children's area which is sure to delight youngsters of all ages.

Admission and Pass Options

Admission is structured to welcome all: Thursdays and Fridays are free until 5 p.m., then $10 after, while Saturday and Sunday admission is $10. Children under 12 enter free at all times. Discounted passes are also available: $25 for a weekend pass (four admissions) and $50 for a Reveler Pass (eight admissions).
