If you’re one of these weirdos who are into colder weather, you’re in luck. Texas has another cold front on the way. It’s expected to roll in Thursday morning, keeping our nights cold and our afternoons pretty chilly through the rest of the week, according to the weather-rascal in the video at the bottom of this article.

Before that happens, we’ll get a short warm-up on today and Wednesday. Don’t expect anything major, though. Highs will mostly land in the upper 50s to mid-60s, with a mix of sun and clouds.

Second Cold Front Hits Texas Later This Week

Things start to change on Thursday morning. When the cold front comes in, it’ll bring some scattered rain in the form of mostly light stuff like drizzle, mist, and a few showers. Some spots might get heavier rain, but most of that will be southeast of San Antonio, from Corpus Christi to Houston, Galveston, and over toward Louisiana. Those areas could see one to three inches of rain by the end of the week.

For places like San Antonio, Austin, the Hill Country, and the I-35 corridor, it’s not much at all. Maybe a hundredth to a tenth of an inch over the next several days. Definitely not enough to help with the dry conditions.

The second week of December looks a lot nicer. Highs are expected to climb back into the upper 60s and even near 70 by next Tuesday through Thursday. A new weather pattern and some high pressure will help warm things up a bit, making temperatures slightly above normal.

So for now, get ready for a quick warm-up, another blast of cold, and then a gradual return to milder weather as December keeps rolling.
