Shards of Glass Raining Down From Shattered Houston Skyscrapers

Hurricane-Force Winds from Derecho Shatter Skyscraper Windows in Downtown Houston, Sending Shards of Glass Raining Down on the Streets Below.

The Weather Channel posted the video at the bottom of this article earlier today, and now we have a new fear unlocked.

Apparently, in order to fix panes of glass on tall skyscrapers, they have to push those panes in, which causes a lot of fine glass to rain down onto the street below.

Terrifying Sound

It's really wild that the reporter's microphone is picking up the sounds of all that tiny glass from that far away. We suggest you watch the video below all the way through, we've never seen, or heard, anything like this before.

Boomers, am I Right?

Towards the end of the video, the reporter talks about how hot it is up there, and that the workers are making sure to take lots of breaks and stay hydrated. They then report that some people have taken to social media to complain that the workers are standing around a lot. It's called taking a break to make sure you don't die from heat exhaustion, Boomer. Mind your own business for once.

As the city begins to rebuild, the resilience and spirit of Houston's community will undoubtedly play a crucial role in overcoming this disaster. Derecho may have shattered windows and caused widespread damage, but it also brought the people of Houston closer together, united in their determination to recover and rebuild stronger than ever.
