I've lived in Nacogdoches since August 2012. I've seen a lot of things change during that time. The other day I was driving in town and looked up just in time to see a building that has gone through multiple changes.

In the 13 years that I've lived in Nacogdoches, this building has been the home of four different restaurants. I started going through the memories of all the different occupants, and this is what I came up with:

Union Cafe

When I first moved to Nacogdoches, it was known as the "Union Cafe". I can remember going and eating there, but I can't remember what kind of food they specialized in. To the best of my memory it was like a more localized Chili's or Applebee's. They served all different kinds of foods.

Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill

When Union Cafe closed down, the building stayed vacant for awhile, but eventually another restaurant moved in after completely renovating the inside. "Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill" took over the place, bringing in a full bar selection, and TVs all over the building so that you could watch big game, or multiple games. It wound up being a pretty cool, local venue to hang out at...but it didn't last...

Good Bites

"Good Bites" was the next to occupy the space. They were pitched as an urban kitchen and grill. They served a lot of different styles of food, too. You could get everything from eggs benedict, to chicken fried steak, to chicken parmesan, and everything in between.

The Country Kettle Buffet

Currently, the restaurant occupying the space is called "The Country Kettle". It's an all-you-can-eat Southern style buffet. I suppose the best description that I would make of it would be that it's similar to a small-scale, local version of Luby's.

This building has had quite the spectrum of different restaurants come through it. I'm sure there was something else there before 2012, but I personally don't remember. Do you?
